Abstract:
In Patriarchal societies a socio-cultural construction of a woman’s body and sexuality is a general feature that considers a woman’s body weak and docile. This often results in her powerlessness from several angles. Here, we have analyzed the extent to which woman’s powerlessness has contributed to increasing her vulnerability towards HIV/AIDS. The result in drawn form the primary data analysis from Karnataka and West Bengal.
