Spillover Effects from Multinational Corporations: Evidence from West Bengal Engineering Industries

Abstract: This paper attempts a critical review of existing spillover analysis and advances an alternative framework for examining spillover effects in a manufacturing industry context. It enables us to determine the extent of spillover effects in the presence of multinational companies in a host country. Using the primary survey data of the engineering industries from West Bengal, the paper analyzes spillover effects, and identifies the factors and conditions under which spillovers occur.
