Abstract:
Learning is a dynamic process. People always can learn during the life. People who learn a subject is no longer same as previous one. Students may vary on issues such as culture, social class, gender, performance level, learning speed and learning style. There are several factors that facilitate learning or make it difficult. They are related to learners, learning methods, the type of material to be learned and the learning environment. The best way to understand the nature of learning is to study with an objective and systematic research. This study aims to determine the variables that affect learning in science high school students. This research is planned as qualitative research, intended the identification of variables that affect students' learning. The study group consists of 20 students studying in 9th class in Konya Meram Science High School, determined by the homogeneous sampling method. Data were collected through interviews of qualitative research techniques. Semi-structured interviews was used as data collection form prepared by the researchers. Each student interviews were conducted approximately 40 minutes. Data was analyzed by the content analysis method. As a result of the content analysis themes were obtained such as variables affecting learning motivation, people who have contributed to the success of student, learning strategies used of students.
