Abstract: Analysis of the dynamics of phenomena describes the theory of indexes (indicators) as well as relative and absolute increments. Using the achievements of financial mathematics, I will try to show in the article that it is possible to extend the analysis of relative increments by dividing them into two measures: a relative increase (growth rate), simple and discount (trade). The above-mentioned difference in rates is known and commonly used in economic arithmetic or financial mathematics, it consists in calculating the interest rate on the value of the initial (base) variable or final (test) variable. Simple applications of the new measure on economic examples are described and its applications on the financial markets are shown. The article may be a contribution to extending the issues known in financial mathematics to statistics.
