Abstract:
This paper presents both the macro and micro picture of the manufacturing industries in Indonesia during the recent economic crisis. It begins with a comprehensive review of the policy environment surrounding Indonesia's manufacturing industry, before and during the crisis. The paper then focuses on the role played by industrial networks to cushion the impacts of the crisis, particularly in the electronics and automotive- components industry.
