No 2021-03, CSLS Research Reports from Centre for the Study of Living Standards
Abstract:
This report provides a detailed analysis of the productivity performance of New Brunswick's manufacturing sector from 1997 to 2019. It examines labour productivity in terms of real value added and nominal value added per hour worked, competitiveness implications through unit labour costs, provincial comparisons, and industry-level productivity performance. Part Two focuses on explaining the post-2004 fall-off in New Brunswick manufacturing productivity through a growth accounting perspective and analysis of industry contributions to the productivity decline.
