Is There Still Momentum in the Atlantic Canada Economy?
Andrew Sharpe
No 2024-08, CSLS Research Reports from Centre for the Study of Living Standards
Abstract:
This report updates the CSLS's previous Atlantic Canada Momentum Index, tracking progress on a scorecard of 19 indicators in six domains: macro-economy, human capital, labour market, innovation and investment, standard of living, and overall life satisfaction. Atlantic Canada has gathered significant economic momentum since the mid-2010s, recording population growth and recording improvements across a broad range of indicators that have significantly outpaced Canada as a whole. The report identifies areas where momentum has been maintained and areas that still lack it, and provides targets for the 2030s.
