Abstract:
The study analyzes the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the criminal prosecution phase, with a focus on the analysis of digital evidence. It presents the types of AI technologies used, their concrete applications in crimes investigation, as well as the benefits and the technical, legal, and ethical risks. Relevant international examples are highlighted and directions for regulation, professional training and standardization are proposed. The conclusion emphasizes the need for a balance between technological innovation and the guarantee of fundamental rights in a fair criminal trial.
