Abstract:
Due to the asymmetry, in recent decades, between the study of immigration and emigration in Portugal - the first was the subject of much greater attention by the academic community - and the imbalance between the statistical information about those flows - data on immigration are more plentiful - what we do not know about the Portuguese emigration today far exceeds what we know. The purpose of this brief essay is to make a point about knowledge and ignorance of this reality.
