The origin of scientific management systems in Russia

Abstract: The report analyzes the spread of ideas and practices of scientific management in the pre-revolutionary Russia. Assessments of basic concepts of Taylor and his followers which appeared in the scientific press of that time are given, light is cast upon the professional discussion on the social nature and feasible methods of implementation of organizational theories. The work contains also factual materials shedding light on the character of spread of American management schemes in the Russian economy. Executive summary is available at pp. 33 [in English].
