Abstract:
This paper studies the determinants of inter-state migration in Australia between 1981 and 1986. A model of inter-regional migration is presented in two parts. First, a neo-classical model of voluntary inter-regional migration is developed. Second, the neo-classical model is transformed into a model of the standardized probability of inter-regional migration.
