Technical change in mid-nineteenth century British cotton textile sector: a note

Abstract:
This note reports the results of estimating a four-input translog production function for the mid-nineteenth century British cotton industry. It establishes the direction of technical change, and produces new estimates of the factor demand substitution elasticities.
