Abstract:
This paper studies the long term relationship between economic growth and income distribution in Uruguay during the XX Century, trying to capture the global economic road and social process. There is not evidence for an unique pattern in the relationship between the income distribution and the economic growth during this period. The PBI explains only a part of the evolution of the inequality in the XX Century.
