Abstract:
The way a company creates and shares knowledge can come to form themselves into a sustainable competitive advantage with high gains in its industrial sector. This work is a case study of an invention, which later became a technological innovation, the project mipis - Micro Port Bait Biodegradable Aracruz Celulose. The aim of the study is the main sources of internal and external knowledge, how this knowledge was incorporated into the project and its contribution to the development of new projects in the company. The paper analyzes the history that characterizes the knowledge assets and checks the type of knowledge management applied. Data were collected primarily through structured interviews with project participants and analysis of related documents. Were identified and analyzed the knowledge accumulated through the historical process of development based on the relationships between project stakeholders. The issues discussed were the adoption by the company of a formal model of knowledge management, its resemblance to the Model of Knowledge Management proposed by Nonaka, Toyama and Konno (2000), the contribution of this project in terms of knowledge, other projects of the company.
