Abstract: The aim of this paper is to adapt households as relevant agents to the economic dynamics in view of the importance of indebtedness of U.S. households in recent decades, especially to the 2007 crisis. It is proposed to rescue the contributions of Keynes and aspects of monetary economy, especially due to changes in the U.S. economy and to the increasing financial integration of households. We consider the dynamics of the financing and acquisition of assets described by Minsky as a guide for the theoretical understanding of households that is not limited to consumer spending, to income and to short-term.
