Abstract: The evolution of teenage pregnancy has been an important issue for a wide range of academics in the last decades because of the economic and social impact that provoques. In this paper It is analyzed through a bivariate probit the decision of study and work of female teenagers with kids under 4 years for the Uruguayan case, using de National Survey of Health, Nutrition and Child Development. The results suggest a positive impact of planned pregnancy, live with father, mother or both, and live on the capital city on the probability of study or work. Others factor like poverty, childÂ’s health difficulties and less help while breeding have a negative impact in both variables. Finally, the decisions of study and work have a mirror effect.
