Good contracts are an alternative to Co-operative structures

Neil Quigley, Lewis Evans and Haleigh Boyd

No 373706, Competition & Regulation Times from New Zealand Institute for the Study of Competition and Regulation

Abstract: How to share risk between growers and processors is a common problem in many of our land-based industries. In New Zealand these issues are sometimes dealt with by co-operatives and other forms of vertical integration- some of which are statutory monopolies. But some industries handle the issues a different way.
