Abstract: The main focus areas of the book are Concepts and Models for Private Participation in Infrastructure, Private Participation in Infrastructure in China, Laws and Regulations for Private Participation in Infrastructure in China, Financing Private Infrastructure Projects in China, Road Issues and Recommendations, Water Issues and Recommendations, Power Generation Issues and Recommendations and suitable examples in each case. However, the World Bank has examined the different issues very technically and it would be a real value to the practioners in the infrastructure field. The report summarizes the findings of a study by the World Bank and IFC on the various aspects of enhancing private sector participation and the selection of suitable projects. The report compares China’s experiences with those of developing and industrial countries and offers recommendations for improvements. In addition, detailed issues are looked at for roads, water supply and sanitation and power generation.
