Do developing countries benefit from outward FDI?

Abstract: Developing countries can benefit from outward FDI undertaken by their own "emerging multinational enterprises". This Perspective outlines how outward FDI contributes to the development of home economies, and discusses potential harmful effects. An appropriate outward FDI policy can enhance the development benefits from outward FDI for home economies.
