How Supply Chain Digitalization affect SC Resilience in the Manufacturing Industry of Pakistan: The Mediatory Role of SC Integration complemented by SC Cost Effectiveness

Abstract: Purpose: Objective: The purpose of this study is to explored how the supply chain digitalization affect supply chain integration (SCI) and in turn, affect Resilience (SCR) within Pakistan's manufacturing sector. Resilience is evaluated through 1. absorption, 2. responsible and 3. recovery capabilities. Additionally, we explore whether the cost effectiveness supply chain moderate the relationship between integration and responsiveness, with expectations that more cost-skilled supply chains experience strong flexibility results. Design/Methodology/Approach: The manufacturing sector of Pakistan selected objective sampling to collect data from 381 supply chain professionals, to target the middle and senior management to capture the precise operational insight through a web-based questionnaire and maintain legitimate reaction to the subsequent screening of 327. Findings- The level of enterprise digitization has a positive effect on the improvement of SCI and SCI, also positive effects on SCR. SCI acts both as a mediator, linking digitalization to resilience through stronger integration practices. In this role, SCI channels the benefits of digitalization- such as enhanced information flows, streamlined processes, and improved collaboration-into greater resilience outcomes. and as a moderator, strengthening the positive effect of CE on resilience by improving coordination, information sharing, and resource use. In short, combining digital tools with strong integration practices can significantly improve supply chain performance and competitiveness. Practical Implication: Research findings provide insight to enterprises to avail digitization to strengthen flexibility in the supply chain. In addition, findings are expected to inform physicians and policy makers on the economic benefits of adopting integrated digital supply chains.
