No 31, ild Schriftenreihe from FOM Hochschule für Oekonomie & Management, Institut für Logistik- & Dienstleistungsmanagement (ild)

Abstract: Logistics qualification is a core area for increased performance, efficiency, flexibility and sustainability in global supply chains - with industry and retail companies as well as with logistics service providers. Albeit the question of how to structure and measure logistics qualification has not yet sufficiently be reported on, especially as most companies in the logistics sector feature only small company sizes and therefore small budgets or management time volumes for the further development of the qualification potential within their personnel. Therefore this paper describes a structured approach regarding logistics qualification based on several empirical results from Germany using the EQF structure of eight qualification levels for an 'Industry Qualifications Framework (IQF) Logistics'. This may have major impacts on international as well as company-level concepts regarding logistics qualification research and practice.
