Abstract: Ein Mengenkontingent für das Importgut definiert eine Konsummöglichkeitskurve, die den Konsum im Vergleich zum Freihandel einschränkt. Die Eigenschaften dieser Kurve werden diskutiert. Das Kontingent bewirkt eine sektorale Umschichtung, ein niedrigeres Volkseinkommen und eine Spaltung zwischen inländischem und ausländischem Relativpreis. Im Fall des großen Landes öffnet sich diese Preisschere stärker.
