Abstract: Die Pläne der USA, Komponenten ihres Raketenabwehrprogramms auf der Basis bilateraler Vereinbarungen in europäischen Staaten zu installieren, haben in Deutsch-land eine heftige politische Kontroverse ausgelöst. Wichtige technische und strategische Fragen bleiben in der Diskussion jedoch oft außer acht. Inwiefern ergibt sich für Europa tatsächlich, wie die USA behaupten, eine Raketenbedrohung durch Iran, und was könnte die geplante Raketenabwehr zum Schutz Europas leisten? (SWP-aktuell/ SWP)
