DOVE: Evolution of Finite Automata in Repeated 2x2 Games

Xavier Vilà

Grecs Computer Code from Research Group in Computation and Simulations (GRECS)

Abstract: General model that uses Genetic Algorithms to simulate the evolution of Finite Automata in repeated symmetric 2x2 games with configurable payoffs, such as the Repeated Prisoners' Dilemma. The model is developed in Linux, is fully functional and the documentation is almost finished. It has a Tcl/Tk interface to control all the parameters and internals of the model, and to do some analysis with the output. A modern interface is planned but not yet started. It features a useful batch mode to run multiple simulation with the same parameter values and to produce Gretl readable files for statistical analysis and robustness tests. Special emphasis is put on the analysis of different crossover mechanisms.

Language: C
Requires: DOVE is depeloped under Linux and it might not work on other systems. Furthermore, for the graphical user interface to work a recent version of Tcl/Tk is required.
