KDENS2: Stata module to estimate bivariate kernel density

Christopher Baum

Statistical Software Components from Boston College Department of Economics

Abstract: kdens2 generalizes the kdensity command to produce a bivariate kernel density estimate and a graph. For Stata 12.1, the graph is produced by twoway contourline or optionally twoway contour. For earlier versions, the graphics are provided by Adrian Mander's surface routine as a three-dimensional wireframe plot. The kernel density is generated by a Gaussian kernel. The user may optionally save a dataset containing the density values, as well as the graph.

Language: Stata
Requires: Stata version 10.0 (12.1 for advanced graphics)
Keywords: bivariate kernel density; Gaussian density; contour plot; surface plot (search for similar items in EconPapers)
