SVYGEI_SVYATK: Stata module to derive the sampling variances of Generalized Entropy and Atkinson inequality indices when estimated from complex survey data

Stephen Jenkins and Martin Biewen

Statistical Software Components from Boston College Department of Economics

Abstract: -svygei- and -svyatk- are programs to estimate Generalized Entropy and Atkinson inequality indices, together with their sampling variances. Sampling variances are calculated using a linearization method proposed by Woodruff (JASA, 1971). The program may also be used to calculate sampling variances in the case where there are i.i.d. observations.
