KAPLANSKY: Stata module to graph examples of distributions of varying kurtosis
Nicholas Cox
Statistical Software Components from Boston College Department of Economics
Abstract:
kaplansky graphs some examples of distributions with various values of kurtosis discussed by Kaplansky in 1945. The intent is cautionary: values of kurtosis higher and lower than the Gaussian or normal value are consistent with various peak and tail properties.
Language: Stata
Requires: Stata version 8
Keywords: kurtosis; tail weight; distributions; graphs (search for similar items in EconPapers)
