SCANDATA: Stata module to scan a dataset for specified characteristics
Malte Kaukal ()
Statistical Software Components from Boston College Department of Economics
scandata scans the dataset and checks if variables fit certain criteria being important in light of data preparation. Those criteria can be: a certain length of variable/value labels and variable names; variable names containing uppercase characters; value and variable labels containing mutated vowels; having unlabeled values; containing an odd distribution . Variables being found are presented in tables. Furthermore, variables containing uppercase letters and/or mutated vowels can be corrected automatically. Thresholds used in length and finding odd distributions can be changed for individual purposes.
