Abstract: mixedpower is a program for calculating power or sample size analytically for linear mixed-effects models, typically for the design of a randomised clinical trial. As such, calculation will be far quicker and generally more accurate than by the use of simulation. The user has the facility to select the treatment effect parameterisation, covariance structure, allocation ratio, adjust for both dropout and incomplete follow-up due to staggered recruitment, and even account for misspecification of the treatment effect.
