NESTPRESERVE: Stata module to preserve, inspect, and restore multiple nested dataset states

Abstract: nestpreserve provides a disk-backed, last-in–first-out stack of dataset-state checkpoints. It allows each Stata frame to save, inspect, and restore multiple analytical states while enforcing frame ownership and restoration order. The module automatically records checkpoint dimensions, variable and observation changes, dataset signatures, and transaction history. nesttransaction: runs a command and automatically rolls back its dataset changes after either success or failure. nestrecover and nestclear provide fail-closed recovery and cleanup after a Stata process ends, acting automatically only when exactly one intact abandoned checkpoint stack is identified and its originating process is proven dead. Ambiguous, live, corrupt, legacy, or otherwise unverifiable candidates are not modified automatically. The module manages the dataset state rather than the complete Stata session.
