Treasury Modelling and Data Tools from New Zealand Treasury

Abstract: The Long-Term Fiscal Model (LTFM) is a spreadsheet-based model created by the New Zealand Treasury to produce 40-year projections. The projections cover economic and fiscal variables, such as nominal GDP and net core Crown debt, used in the Statements on the Long-Term Fiscal Position published by the New Zealand Treasury every four years. The latest version of the LTFM is the model produced for He Tirohanga Mokopuna 2025: The Treasury's Long-term Fiscal Position published in September 2025.
