Abstract: The United Nations could not create the modern world on the basis of equitable trade and economic relations. In this regard, the author analyzes issues of world economy, trade policy, the work of UNCTAD in the 50 years since its inception. Concluded controversialее achievements as the organization and other international institutions, in particular, in the task of overcoming poverty in the world. Affecting the question of a new round of confrontation between Russia and the West, in the light of events Ukrainian adopted sanctions against the Russian government and commercial organizations. Proved their unpromising at the general unstable state of the world. The necessity of strengthening the national economy and the new Euroasian Economic Union.
