Abstract:
Objective: We report results obtained on mtDNA sequence of the epidermal cells contained in the Guillard medallion. Methods: SEM-EDX analyses and DNA sequence of mtDNA obtained from the epidermal cells were realized. Results: The epidermal cells (keratinocytes) are well conserved. The mtDNA HVS1 sequence obtained from them comprises the 16184 T mutation only, which is highly characteristic of Napoléon the First.
