Abstract:
This poster examines the issue of whether debt and leasing are substitutes. Using 2012 Agricultural Resource Management Survey data, a tobit model is estimated to estimate the debt-to-lease displacement ratio. Leasing and debt were found to be substitutes and the ratio was found to vary among farm typologies. Medium and large farms had near perfect substitution ratios.
