The Economy Diet

Jerry Foytik

No 284511, 1974 Annual Meeting, August 18-21, College Station, Texas from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: Low-cost food plans offer little guidance to persons with limited food budgets. Diets costing much less can be determined by linear programming methods applied to specified nutritional standards and selected palatability requirements. The wide discrepancy between the cost levels needs examination and explanation.
