Abstract:
The objectives of this paper are (1) to measure changes in productivity in U.S. agriculture from 1939 to 1972, (2) to compare this measured productivity with the USDA productivity, and (3) to test the responsiveness of the measured productivity to changes in the value of the elasticity of factor substitution.
