Abstract:
The coalition agreement of the federal government parties SPD, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen and FDP states that the Joint Task for the "Improvement of Agricultural Structures and Coastal Protection" (GAK) should be more closely aligned with the coalition's objectives. The Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) asked the Thünen Institute for a statement on the existing possibilities which forms the basis of this Working Paper. It is to be understood as an impetus paper which, in varying degrees of detail, provides thought-provoking impulses on possible further developments of the GAK with regard to a stronger consideration of the objectives of nature conservation and biodiversity, organic farming, climate protection and adaptation to climate change, and rural development. These impulses address both a possible further development of the GAK as a whole as well as a further development of the existing funding areas and special framework plans. The coalition agreement of the federal government parties SPD, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen and FDP states that the Joint Task for the "Improvement of Agricultural Structures and Coastal Protection" (GAK) should be more closely aligned with the coalition's objectives.
