Abstract:
The aim of the study was to assess the degree of development of organic farming in the regions NUTS 1, applying the environmental, social and economic functions. Based on bibliographic and survey data, were constructed indicators of develop ment of those functions in the NUTS regions. It was found that the most developed organic farming was the most developed in north-west region, and the region north. Least developed organic farming was observed in the north-western and northern regions, while the least developed one in the southern region. Signifi cant differences existed in the area of the state of various functions realised by organic farming in the regions in focus.
