Abstract:
This paper applied a negative Binomial model to investigate the factors influencing the number of semi trucks owned by grain producers in Iowa. Results suggest that crop planted areas, distance on various roads to market, ethanol plants, and farmers’ perceptions on various marketing hindrances affected their ownership of semi trucks.
