Abstract:
"Quality" and "eco-labeling" approaches for food in France and the United States are described and compared in this paper. The paper draws on a recent MS thesis in Economics by the lead author. A subsequent paper will cover empirical analyses of the environmental impacts of farming practices for French "quality" and "eco-label" products.
