A Generalized Edit and Analysis System for Agricultural Data

Dale Atkinson and Carol House

No 234299, NASS Research Reports from United States Department of Agriculture, National Agricultural Statistics Service

Abstract: The transfer of the census of agriculture from the U.S. Bureau of the Census to the National Agricultural Statistics service provided an opportunity for the Agency to improve both the census and its ongoing survey and estimation program through effective integration of the two. This paper addresses the re-engineering of the census processing system into a generalized edit and analysis system for use on the broad spectrum of agricultural data. The paper discusses issues such as edit philosophy, data capture, macro and micro graphical analysis.
