No 45851, CNPP Reports from United States Department of Agriculture, Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion

Abstract: The CNPP Prices Database contains a price for every food reported consumed in the 2001-02 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). This report describes the steps involved in calculating this price on a national level. The prices are reported in dollars per gram in the form the food appears on the table. That is the weight of the inedible purchased portions such as skins and seeds are already accounted for in the price. These prices form the basis of the four USDA Food Plans
