Digitalization as an Element of Development and Challenges in the Tourism Sector

Abstract:
The aim of the article is to identify and indicate the challenges faced by participants in the tourism sector due to the dynamically advancing digitalization of the sector. The article puts forward the following research hypothesis: In every economic sector, there are challenges that must be prepared for in order for the sector to continue to develop. In relation to the stated objective and the adopted hypothesis, the article asks the following research question – "What challenges are visible among entities in the tourism sector and what among clients of this sector in the context of development?" In order to answer the question, the article presents the essence of digitalization and selected solutions in tourism. Then, the results of research conducted among experts, entrepreneurs and clients of the tourism sector are presented.
