Abstract: Parents who are not actively involved in student’s education will encounter obstacles in understanding the needs and abilities of the students, which may lead to academic struggles such as underachieving, or behavioral problems such as delinquency. This research was conducted to determine the influence of parental involvement on the school readiness of early childhood education (ECE) students before entering primary school in Makassar. The measurement tools used in this research are the Family Involvement Questionnaire-Short Form (FIQ-SF) and the Kindergarten Student Entry Profile (KSEP), which have been adapted to Indonesian and retested for their feasibility. The sample in this research consisted of 100 parents of ECE students. The data of this research were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results shows that there is a significant positive influence between the variable of parental involvement in students’ school readiness (r = 0.587; p = 0.000
