Democracies, of the world unite

Ivo Daalder and James Lindsay

Public Policy Review, 2007, vol. 14, issue 1, 47-58

Abstract: When Ivo Daalder and James Lindsay first called for an ‘alliance of democracies’ to replace the United Nations in the Washington Post in 2004, ‘it caused uproar.‘ Here they explain why their proposal for a new international democratic body would not only solve international disputes more effectively than the UN but would, ‘post‐Iraq,‘ ensure a United States of America that again plays by the rule.
