The impact of weather conditions on productivity of forage crops on drained peat soils

Abstract: It has been discovered, that a long-term cultivation of perennial grasses in pure crops and crop rotations with the share in structure of at least 70–80 % is the most appropriate by performance and the coefficient of variation in peaty soils. Even under unfavorable weather conditions of certain vegetation periods the yield of forage grasses remains high, at the same time value of coefficients of variation falls within 15,0–19,6 %. Drought phenomena have been observed for 40-year period of research in the 15–20 % years; an excessive soil has been waterlogging for 4–5 years.
