Abstract:
In the course of the financial crisis, regulatory authorities have placed liquidity and liquidity risk management in the centre of considerations. The corresponding minimum requirements with regard to risk management (MaRisk) have to be implemented by financial institutions until the end of 2011. This paper shows that the implementation of MaRisk in cooperative banks may benefit from the cooperative business model.
