Abstract: The purpose of a recently conducted survey was the evaluation of startup cooperatives in Baden-Württemberg after the amendment of the German cooperative law in 2006 in order to extract the main determinants of success and assist future startups. It is evident, that cooperatives may be considered an attractive legal form of a company with unique features. Regarding the activities of the regional auditing federations, we recommend a broadening of information campaigns and a more precise specification of their services.
