Abstract: Digitisation currently results in substantial changes to the financing sector. Cooperative banks particularly seem to be opposed to this trend with their traditional, regional oriented business model. We analyse cooperative banks‘ business model based on expert interviews to examine effects of digitisation. We find that cooperative banks‘ business model is affected in all its facets and has to be adjusted to new conditions in the course of digitisation.
