Abstract:
Industrial ecology is a scope of application towards sustainable development targets. Implementation of industrial ecology at a territorial scale, called industrial symbiosis, allows a development of industrial activities more sustainable from an environmental point of view. This paper mainly aims at highlighting the benefits of scientific proximity field on industrial ecology analysis. Firstly, we refer to the theoretical frameworks on industrial ecology. Secondly, we would like to highlight that industrial ecology strategy could be considered like a territorial development dynamic. We take an interest in works made about geographical, organisational and institutional proximity, and about coordination between actors involved, in order to demonstrate that industrial ecology is dynamical process.
